Learning About Germany's Dual Training System

AHK Philippines' Dual Training Team, the K to 12 PLUS Project and the rest of the Philippine delegates from PCCI, DepEd, TESDA and private insitutions started their Study Tour in Germany with a visit to DIHK, the chamber's headquarters in Berlin and project partner, ZDH (German Chamber of Crafts) to learn more about Germany's dual training system.




October Study Tour of Germany Visits the Anuga Trade Fair

German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. and the K to 12 PLUS Project​ start their Study Tour of Germany by visiting the Anuga Food Fair. K-12 Plus and HRDF's Maricris Capistrano, Research and Advocacy Officer visits the fair and meets with Julia Hoffman, Head of Import Promotion Desk, during the pre workshop for the Fair. Cebu Cluster Begins Student Immersion

The Construction cluster of Cebu deployed 24 students the first week of October 2015 to partner companies for their immersion. The immersion is part of their training under the competency Carpentry NC II which is being taught to them at PSEFI – SKILLS. The participating companies of Cebu Contractor’s Association includes Primary Structures, J.E. Abraham Lee Construction and PLD Construction. The industry partners have their own newly trained In-Company Trainers who will carry out the training plan as designed by the instructor of SKILLS Engr. Steve Y. Banzon and monitored by Cebu project coordinator and Master Trainer for In-Company Training Mr. John Paul Briones. The TESDA Training Regulation for Carpentry NC II is being used as basis for the training plan and the rotation plan to ensure all competencies and learning outcomes are followed and delivered.

Trabajo Forum on Workforce Development

K-12Plus Project and HRDF Executive Director Mr. Marlon Mina shared his experiences and insights on industry-led tourism workforce development.The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), through the Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD), in cooperation with the Local Governance Support Program for Local Economic Development (LGSP-LED) organized a Workforce Development Forum on September 29-30, 2015 in Bluewater, Panglao, Bohol. The Forum aimed to coach the participants on establishing industry partnerships for workforce development by showcasing various cases and models and conducting workshops to facilitate collaboration between the Private Sector and LGUs on workforce development. The activity is intended for the Provincial, Cities and Municipal Public Employment Service Office (PESO) managers from the Batch 3 sites of LGSP-LED, DILG regional and provincial focal persons, Project Implementation Team (PIT) managers, and private sector representatives. In Company Training Graduation, Cebu

K-12 Plus Project Partner AFOS and Cebu Chamber of Commerce celebrated the graduation of the In-Company Trainers conducted by K-12 Plus Master Trainers Mr. Steve Banzon and Mr. John Paul Briones. This is the first "In-Company Training of Trainers" in Cebu of the K-12 Plus Project. The seminar workshop was held at the Cebu Chamber of Commerce Training Room and were composed of trainees from Cebu's Food Manufacturing and Construction Cluster.
