PCCI HRDF attends TVET Report Viet Nam 2015 “Centres of Excellence” in Focus

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Human Resources Development Foundation (PCCI HRDF) together with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), with the support of the K to 12 Plus Project, attended the “TVET Report Viet Nam 2015 “Centres of Excellence” in Focus” last April 20-21 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The event was co-organized by the National Institute for Vocational Training (NIVT), General Department of Vocational Training of Vietnam (GDVT), GIZ Vietnam and the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).

The 2-day workshop on “Developing Vietnam’s Vocational training report in 2015 – Identifying performance monitoring indicators for centers of excellence for TVET in Vietnam”, is a collaborative effort between the concerned Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) departments in Vietnam which aims to establish indicators that will be part of the report for the policy makers and other stakeholders. The report will also monitor and evaluate the performance of the Centers of Excellence (CoE) for TVET in Vietnam.

In June 2016, TESDA will also organize a similar workshop on the development of TVET Monitoring Report for the Philippines. The PCCI HRDF with the support of K to 12 Plus Project will also assist TESDA in the said activity. Speakers from the Technical Experts of BIBB and NIVT will also be invited to deliver presentations on how to develop indicators and to share their experiences in the development of the TVET Monitoring Report.

The event in June is a very important activity that will provide information for policy makers, researchers, vocational training institutions, enterprises, international organizations, and investors, among others, on the existing TVET activities and on how to further improve its implementation in the Philippines.
