Last Feb.22, the Presentation of the Results of the Cost-Benefit Study on Dual Training System was held at Social Action Center of Pampanga (SACOP), Government Center, MacArthur Highway, Maimpis, San Fernando City, Pampanga. Provincial Director of TESDA Tarlac, PD Ben-Hur B. Baniqued gave the opening remarks and the results were presented by UP Diliman School of Statistics' Dean Dennis Mapa. These results are a result of a study started last October 2015 by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), PCCI Human Resources Development Foundation (PCCI HRDF) and K to 12 PLUS Project in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Together they commissioned the University of the Philippines' Statistical Center Research Foundation, Inc. (UPSCRFI) to conduct the Costs and Benefits Study (CBS) of the Dual Training System (DTS) as practiced in the country.
This project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development/ BMZ with the technical assistance from the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), Germany.
The main objective of this research undertaking is to determine the DTS program’s costs and benefits, particularly for the firms that are engaging the trainees of the DTS. The result of the study would also provide the empirical evidence to the policy recommendations to expand and improve the DTS/DTP. This event was attended by all PCCI Region III Local Chambers, TESDA Partners,  Cost-Benefit Study Survey Respondents and Technical Vocational Institute (TVIs). For more photos, click here.
